Multimodal Over-exaggerated Volitional Exercise

Early Intervention Exercise for

Individuals with Parkinson's Disease

A Pioneering Approach to Parkinson's Management

M.o.v.e. (Multimodal Over-exaggerated Volitional Exercise) is an innovative pilot program specifically designed for individuals recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. By focusing on deliberate, amplified movements, m.o.v.e. aims to maintain mobility, preserve neural pathways, and potentially slow symptom progression.

Why m.o.v.e. Matters

Research suggests that targeted exercise interventions initiated early after diagnosis may help preserve motor function and improve quality of life.

Our program harnesses the power of neuroplasticity -- your brain's remarkable ability to reorganize and form new connections -- through purposeful, exaggerated movement patterns across all areas from brain to toes.

We are excited to share information about this innovative new program that may benefit you or your loved ones living with Parkinson's disease in the greater Chicago area.

Exercise is the number one patient-modifiable factor in slowing Parkinson's disease progression. Unfortunately, research shows there is often a significant gap between diagnosis and the start of evidence-based exercise routines that can make a real difference.

M.o.v.e. is a state-of-the-art program specifically designed by experts to close this gap and provide targeted exercises that address multiple aspects of living with Parkinson's – including speech, voice, swallow, language, cognition, functional movements, gross motor, fine motor, dual tasking, and overall quality of life.

As a pioneering initiative, m.o.v.e. offers participants the opportunity to be at the forefront of innovative approaches to Parkinson's management.

What makes this program special:

  • Led by a practicing team of expert Speech, Physical, and Occupational therapists who specialize in progressive neurological conditions

  • FREE OF CHARGE – does not bill insurance

  • Comprehensive "brain to toes" approach that effectively and efficiently targets multiple systems within each 1 hour class

  • A bootcamp-style group format based in Westmont, Illinois

  • Meets 3 days weekly (Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) for 4 consecutive weeks, starting June 2nd

  • Specifically designed for individuals at or near time of diagnosis

This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills and learn exercise routines early in your Parkinson's journey when they can have the greatest impact. The m.o.v.e. program focuses on maintenance, education, and direct exercise across multiple modalities.
